Team Member Profile: Zamira Cherchenko

When you visit Pacific Lifestyle Homes, a home builder in Vancouver WA and surrounding areas, one of the first people you’re likely to meet is Zamira Cherchenko. She’s our new front office administrator who is sure to greet you with a smile and help you get started on the path to owning a brand new home.
“My responsibilities include assisting our sales, marketing, and design studio teams, greeting visitors, and working on various administrative tasks,” she explains. In addition, she recently joined our Fun Committee, which plans events and culture building activities.
She’s an excellent team member, helping out wherever needed. In fact, when asked questions from coworkers, her response was, “A common question I get from co-workers is, “Can you take over this for me?”. Helping out where needed comes naturally. Before joining us, she worked for a large car dealership in San Francisco. “I was responsible for bookkeeping and data entry for our accounting department, vehicle loaner processing, assisting customers, office administrative tasks, and supporting the advisers and managers.”
A typical day now with Pacific Lifestyle Homes can be just as wide ranging. “My responsibilities vary day to day and there are always little things that come up, which I enjoy because it keeps things interesting. Every day I work on projects related to home building and our homebuyers, and I assist anybody in the office who needs help.”
Zamira has a fascinating background. She moved to the US at the age of three from Moldova. While she may not speak Moldovan, she does speak Russian and Ukrainian. Living in the PNW has given her a love for the greenery and nature that abounds. “I enjoy outdoor activities, traveling, and spending time with my family, friends, and husband. I love being surrounded by trees and nature, reading books, going to church, and watching documentaries.”
Speaking of her husband, after graduating from Portland State University, she married him in 2019 with a destination wedding in Hawaii, surrounded by family and friends. After their honeymoon, the couple moved to San Francisco where her husband had a job opportunity. They enjoyed their time and adventures there, but as she explains, “After a year, we decided to move back to the Vancouver/Portland area and buy a home. We think it was a great decision to purchase a new home, and we are delighted to be back with our friends and family here.”
Having just joined us this year, she’s already fitting in well and we appreciate her commitment to our company mission. “I believe we have the best group of people, not only because we talk about the six company core values, that is, integrity, respect, teamwork, accountability, candor, and humility, but also because I see it daily on display. And this transfers into the beautiful homes we build.”
We love having Zamira on our team and the feeling seems to be reciprocated, plus, it’s great to have someone who truly enjoys her work with us. She understands what we’re trying to do as a home builder in Vancouver WA. “What I love most about the job and this company is the work we do and who I do it with. Helping someone make their dream home a reality is a big privilege, and we have the best team to exceed the expectations of our new home buyers. Also, in this position, I get to be a helping hand to my co-workers, which is something I enjoy and which makes me proud. I am grateful to the management and my co-workers for their support in all my training, and I am excited about what the future holds.”
