Port Orchard is a beautiful waterfront city with fantastic views of the Sinclair Inlet. The city blends easy access to mountains and wonderful scenery with some of the best neighborhoods, schools, shopping, and restaurants, making it a great place to live. Located just 13 miles west of West Seattle, it’s also where we’re building Port Orchard WA new homes in the McCormick Trails community.

Port Orchard has a population around 15,587, and an average age of 34.3, giving it a lively feel while still holding on to some of the benefits of a welcoming small-town atmosphere. Located as close as it is to Seattle, it can be a great place to live and commute, while enjoying a lower cost of living than Seattle.

It has an attractive downtown area with a range of boutique shops offering something a little different and special, including some high-end brands, as well as vintage finds. There’s also the Town Square Mall for more everyday needs.

You’ll find a range of parks that are well maintained and offer a great place to have fun with the family or just sit back and relax. The city offers plenty of great scenery, with charming spots to enjoy on a leisurely drive or stop in at one of the many great restaurants and breweries, many right on the waterfront. You can also park along Beach Drive and Bay Street to watch the sea otters with the Olympic Mountains in the background. Plus, there are boating options if you want to head out onto the water.

Unemployment is lower than the national average and there are large employers in Port Orchard, as well as the surrounding area. For schools, the city is served by the Kitsap County School District. The great schools in Port Orchard include South Kitsap High School, Explorer Academy & Hope Academy, Discovery Montessori, Sidney Glen Elementary, and Cedar Heights Middle School.

There’s a lot to like about Port Orchard. With year-long outdoor activities, a wealth of great dining, interesting shopping, arts, and culture, along with a great location, it’s easy to understand why people are looking closely at Port Orchard WA new homes.
