Floor Plan: Conifer

The Conifer starts off with charming curb appeal and gets better and better as you explore this lovely home. This is the kind of floor plan that will work for a variety of people looking for homes in Portland OR. As with all of our homes, there is flexibility in the space, letting you adapt the home to your lifestyle, whether you stick with the basic plan or add in additional options that are always available to help customize your home.

At its heart, the Conifer is a single-level home with three to four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a two-car garage, and 1,982 square feet, along with some attractive architectural features inside that add to the overall style of the home, such as the coffered ceiling over the entry and the great room, adding visual interest and definition to the spaces. The Conifer is ideal for couples, small families, and empty nesters among others, especially with everything being on one level, making life more convenient. You even have your choice of exterior.

The Conifer is designed to offer privacy in its layout, with the primary bedroom suite – complete with spa-like bathroom – in the back corner of the home and the two additional bedrooms in the front, on the opposite side of the home. The additional bedrooms share a full bathroom. They are also located off a small hallway near the entrance, offering further privacy. There’s a convenient linen closet and storage closet off the short hallway, as well. With this layout, parents can have privacy, and kids can play music or video games with less disturbance to everyone else. However, in the center of the home is where everyone comes together.

The main living area is set up as an open-plan layout, though there are subtle designations that give the great room, the kitchen, and the dining area their own obvious space. The spacious great room with its coffered ceiling and large windows is a wonderful room for the family to come together and relax, have fun, and just hang out. The kitchen is set off from the great room by the island that provides some separation between the two rooms, while still allowing for easy conversation. There’s also a walk-in pantry to add to the plentiful storage in the kitchen. Next to the kitchen, and with an optional extension, is the dining area with sliding glass doors that can lead out to a back patio.

These are the basics of any home, but done with real thought to make the space functional and comfortable for everyone living there. However, we go beyond the basics in all of our homes. You’ll almost always find a den, flex room, or bonus room, or all of the above, in our home designs and the Conifer is no different with a den just off the entry. This works as an excellent home office, a feature that most home buyers are looking for these days. Of course, if you need the space, the den can be turned into an additional bedroom. We also include a spacious laundry room within the home for added convenience, rather than having to fit the laundry into the garage. However, the laundry room also serves as a sort of mudroom as the entrance from the garage into the home is via the laundry room. It’s ideal for removing shoes and clothing that might track in a mess.
