Employee Spotlight: Cynthia Cabell

As a home builder in Vancouver WA, we have a great team that helps make us successful and ensure you have a positive experience. You might not come across all of our team members, so we like to give them the spotlight they richly deserve. Cynthia Cabell is in that spotlight today!

Cynthia joined our team a little over 8 months ago and is proving to be an outstanding purchasing agent. Her job involves trade recruitment and competitive pricing, tracking trade productivity, community buyout, and supporting construction superintendents and the sales team.

Her past experience has more than prepared her for her current job, as it has been in the general field of new construction, involving commercial, residential, multi-family affordable housing, and even military installations construction. Academically, she also has a great background to understand the industry, having Certified Construction Management from the University of Washington, as well as business and finance, and loan offer course work at Pierce College.

To give you a better idea of how her work impacts the building of your own home, her typical day involves moving through construction phases of all our home builds. She works on communication with the various trades involved, and helps determine current pricing by keeping up to date and reviewing pricing and running comparisons, looking for the best products and services at the best prices.

Cynthia works hard and interacts with a variety of people, both with outside trades as well as plenty of our own staff. When asked about what she loves about her job, she explains, “I love the way this company allows me to get dialed in. I love the support from co-workers, and the vibe we have in this office. Everyone is for each other, not against each other.” That sense of support is something we strive for within our workplace and for our customers.

While Cynthia appreciates the support she gets from her co-workers, she’s also a source of support for plenty of people who need it. When she’s not at work, she’s helping others in the community, doing work we all respect. “I am a support person in the community of alcohol and drug recovery for young people and adults. I am regularly asked to speak in juvenile detention centers and treatment centers throughout the Puget Sound Region.”

Her life isn’t all work, but she always puts her all into what she does. Growing up here in South Sound, she had a dapple-grey Arabian that she rode and competed in shows with, and she was also active in fastpitch softball and dance team activities. In fact, she adds, “I played very competitive co-ed softball for the majority of my adult life. Today I enjoy snow skiing, paddle boarding, hiking, and tent camping with my husband, family, and friends.” She also credits her parents for being very supportive of her activities growing up.

Cynthia’s experience, dedication, and drive are just some of the reasons why she’s such a great addition to our team. As a home builder in Vancouver WA, we’re glad to have her expertise and positivity working to help us provide the best possible experience for all of our customers.
