How To Help Your Baby Learn At An Early Age

Ever think if you’ve had more learning when you were a baby that things would be a bit more helpful?  Having a baby these days is a lot more investment than it has ever been.  There’s more resources than our previous generations, and it is being poured to mold our children.  Here are some helpful tips to help your baby’s mind grow stronger every day.

Less electronics the better
Nowadays, there are plenty of toys for babies and kids to overwhelm them with sounds and bright lights.  There’s video games, cell phones, television and even the internet for small children.  However, the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children under the age of two years old shouldn’t watch any television.  These electronic devices over stimulate your baby’s brain and provides no interaction for them whatsoever.  There was some major trend allowing babies to watch educational baby videos and DVDs, however research shows that they don’t make your kids smarter whatsoever.  Children who are exposed more to human contact and interaction would learn more than strictly watching a video.  That doesn’t mean that you are not allowed to give your kids any electronic devices to learn from, the basic requirement would be to interact with them every step of the way and limit the time exposed to things like television.  And when they’ve had sufficient time to learn and be entertained, then it’s time to rest.  Kids need to learn how to rest their minds and not be used to always over stimulating their minds.

More reading and interactions
Parents are busier than ever, so it’s even more important to plan out your schedule to give your kids sufficient portion of your time.  Babies respond to human interactions to increase their IQ and EQ qualities.  Here are some tips to interact with your baby.

  • Talk & Read:  Talking helps them listen and learn language skills.  As for reading, at first they may just enjoy the colorful pictures on the pages, but eventually they will catch on the purpose of reading and enjoy it into their adulthood.
  • Sing, Laugh & Coo:  Babies love to have fun, so when they are in a fun environment with singing laughing and cooing it makes them enjoy human interaction even more so.  Having a positive and fun environment for the baby to grow up in will ensure they become healthy adults in the future.
  • Cuddle & Love:  A baby’s first year is the most vulnerable, that is why it’s important to provide great care and make them feel they are safe with love.
  • Play Silly Games:  Babies don’t come any more sillier than they are, so enjoy it.
